Cocktail Liangcha

Food Design

Designers: Hao Yao, Zixi Chen, Zhixi Dai

Guangdong is a province located in the hot and humid region of Lingnan, China. Many Cantonese people spend 80% of their lives combating heat and detoxification. As a result, they are particularly prone to "yeet hay" and believe in an old saying that serious illnesses require a visit to the doctor, while brief illnesses can be cured with Liangcha.

Guangdong Liangcha is different from general tea, as it is actually a traditional Chinese medicine that is typically quite bitter. To make it more palatable, many Cantonese enjoy it with sweet tangerine peels. However, packaging Liangcha and tangerine peels in plastic generates a lot of pollution that can harm future generations.

The Cocktail Liangcha not only combines granulated Liangcha and sweet tangerine peel in sugar to reduce plastic waste but also offers a leisurely experience. By imitating a fruit garnish on a cocktail glass, we have made the act of drinking Liangcha more enjoyable.

It is also one of the winners of the Green Concept Award.
